A mutual contract termination (rupture conventionnelle) in France allows an employer and an employee under an indefinite contract (CDI) to agree mutually on ending employment. Under Article L1237-13 of the French Labor Code, the employee is entitled to a statutory severance payment that cannot be lower than the legal dismissal indemnity.
